Crêperie Le Paris Dakar: grand opening (with live music) tomorrow!

The new French/Senegalese crêperie Le Paris Dakar is having a grand opening tomorrow at their space at 518 Nostrand Avenue. Mouna, the owner, has told us that there will be a live African band playing outside.

We spoke with Mouna a couple weeks ago about her vision for the restaurant. She was born and raised in France, and is of Senegalese descent. Both the name – Le Paris Dakar – and the cuisine of her new restaurant will reflect that cultural fusion: they will serve savory and sweet crêpes, coffee and French pastries, but with an occasional Senegalese twist (i.e., a crêpe with Senegalese-style marinated chicken and spices). Mouna, who now lives in Bed-Stuy, is excited about bringing a cafe with a French touch to the neighborhood. We don’t know of another place to get crêpes in Bed-Stuy, so we’re pretty excited too!
