12th Annual KIDflix Film Fest of Bed-Stuy

The 12th annual KIDflix Film Fest is going to be OUT OF CONTROL! So much stuff will be happening that it is hard for me to even concentrate…

This (FREE) event will showcase more than just films from across the African Diaspora, and will also include live performances, Q&A’s with the directors, art workshops, and, did someone say dance party?! KIDflix is a project supported by MoCADA, the African Film Fest, Animae Caribe, and local artist True; so the event will also be showcasing MoCADA’s new TV channel which is an exciting new revolution that takes the African Diaspora outside of its Museum walls and into the world of television!

The opening night will be this Friday, August 5th, 2011, from 7:00PM – 10:00PM. The movie will be “Brownstones to Red Dirt” and director Dave LaMattina and the film’s actors will be around for Q&A.

BUT THAT”S NOT ALL! In addition, Jamel Gaines’ Creative Outlet Dance Company will open the festival with an amazing dance performance from its Youth Dance Academy. And remember, if you can’t make it this Friday, keep in mind that there 3 more Fridays in August, as well as other film-related events that go on all Summer long.

Performance: Dance Like Michael workshop with Aamir Smith
